Privacy policy for Nature Quest
Last updated: 22 October 2026 · Applies to the Nature Quest app for iOS and Android
In short
- Nature Quest does not collect, store or share personal data.
- There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking.
- Game progress and any photos you take stay on your device.
- If you contact us, you send the email yourself from your own email app.
1. Who we are
Nature Quest is made by Appivate AS, Øvre Kråkenes 17, 5152 Bønes, Bergen, Norway (org. no. 815 992 482). Appivate AS is responsible for the app. Contact us at nq@appivate.com.
2. What data does the app collect?
None that identifies you. The app has no login and does not ask for your name, email address or location.
Saved games, completed games, badges and settings are stored locally on your device. They are deleted when you delete the app.
3. Camera and photos
The app asks for access to the camera only when you choose to take a photo of something you have found. You can play without it.
Photos are saved in the app’s own storage on your device. They are never uploaded, and they are removed when the game they belong to is deleted.
4. Contacting us
“Contact us” and “Report a bug” open your own email app with a pre-filled message to nq@appivate.com, after a short question for grown-ups. The message includes the app version, platform and language, so we can help. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app.
We use your email address and message only to answer you, and delete them when the matter is resolved, normally within 12 months.
5. Children’s privacy
Nature Quest is made for children together with adults. Because we do not collect personal data, the app is designed to meet the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR and the Apple Kids Category and Google Play Families requirements.
Anything that leaves the app, such as sending an email or sharing a PDF, is behind a parental gate.
6. Third-party services
The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. To deliver bug fixes, the app may check for and download app updates from Expo, our update service. These requests contain technical information such as app version and platform, and are not used to identify you.
When you share a PDF or open your email app, the receiving app or service handles the data under its own privacy policy.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete personal data about you, and to object to processing. Because the app stores nothing about you on our side, deleting the app removes all data. If you have emailed us, contact nq@appivate.com and we will delete the correspondence.
You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no), but we would appreciate hearing from you first.
8. Changes to this policy
We publish any changes on this page with a new date at the top. Significant changes will also be described in the app’s release notes.
